I've sent a small clock home with your child so he/she can practice. First graders are expected to tell time to the hour and the half hour. Of course if your child easily masters this, go ahead with more difficult times. Start talking about time and pointing out various clocks in your house. Perhaps you could even buy your child a clock for his/her room.
Please send the small clock back to school on Monday, March 9. Thanks!

Changing clothes
I told the kids that they were no longer going to be able to change into shorts. I told them that when their parents say it's OK to wear shorts to school, that's ok. But NO MORE changing from pants to shorts.
Book Fair
As I mentioned earlier, I want EVERY child to get to buy a new book. If you are unable to purchase a book for your child, please let me know and I will buy a book for them.
If you are going to send money with your child to purchase a book, please send at least $5.00. The books are more expensive than the book order and $5.00 won't go far.
The book fair will also be open all day March 12. If you would like to stop by and shop with your child, that's fine, too! The book fair will also be open during Family Activity Night (March 12). However, it's usually CRAZY BUSY down there so beware!
