We are running low on watercolor paper for the art center. It can be purchased at Hobby Lobby for about $5.00. If you use the weekly online coupon for 40% off, it's even less! HomeworkYour child has two things to do for homework. One is a book to read, the other is a book to make about living and nonliving things. Each item that is returned is worth 5 titan tickets, plus the parent note worth 5 titan tickets as well. Have a FANTASTIc Easter!! See You On Tuesday, April 3!Congratulations to Leah for earning Treats With The Principal this month. She is consistently respectful, responsible, and safe. Reading HomeworkWe had quite a few students who did not return their reading homework today. Please do so tomorrow. It's hard to have a reading group without our reading books. Easter BreakDon't forget....................................Easter Break is March 29-April 3.
A BIG thank you to the parents who attended the PTA meeting last week. I won a $100 Amazon gift card for having so many of you at the meeting! This is my second time to win a gift card. The last one was $100 to be used at Scholastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you! April ConferencesThough it's hard to believe, our final conferences are around the corner. This year we are asking parents to sign up online. On Thursday, March 29, you will be able to visit the website below and sign up for a conference. The evening times fill up quickly so mark your calendar and remember to sign up this Thursday! PS You WON'T be able to sign up early..... you must wait until Thursday, March 29. Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 22nd at 6:30pm, Titan Hill Library. Pizza will be provided. Come see what PTA is all about!
This weekend the students have a book to read as reading homework. Please listen to your child read his/her book, sign the slip in the book, and return on Monday, March 19. For students who complete this task on time, it will be worth 10 titan tickets! New BooksA giant THANK YOU to everyone who supported the book fair in one way or another, whether you worked at it, sent money so your child could buy books, or donated money for books for the classroom library. The pictures show ALL of the free books I received! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Family Activity NightThere's no doubt about it, Wild About Reading was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came to participate. Most of the pictures below are from my room where the guest was Dr. Dan DeWitt, a veterinarian from IWCC. He is the head of the vet tech program there.
The book fair will be open again tomorrow. If your child hasn't purchased a book and won't be coming to Family Activity Night tomorrow, please consider sending some money. For children who are unable to purchase a book, I will get one for them. If you see a book come home that you didn't purchase, that's where it came from!
Last night my son, Noah, had his swearing in at the Glenwood City Council meeting. Tomorrow he starts his first day as a Glenwood police officer. Enjoy your children; they grow up so fast!
We enjoyed the presentation by Hitchcock today! The presentation was about similarities and differences between baby and adult animals. This presentation tied into what we are learning about in science, which is living things. Please ask your student to share with you all they learned from Hitchcock today.
