If you would like to come and help with the Splash Party, please come between 1:15-1:30.
Just a friendly reminder that our Splash Party is on Friday, June 1, at 1:45. We have all the water balloons we need. Squirt guns are optional, just no super soakers. Make sure all squirt guns are clearly marked with your child's name. If you have an extra squirt gun that you would be willing to send, please do so! Beach towels are also needed. As for sunscreen, I will plan to have that for the kids.
If you would like to come and help with the Splash Party, please come between 1:15-1:30.

Kaiden and Quyonna are the final two students to have Treats With the Principal. They are consistently respectful, responsible, and safe! Great Work!
To celebrate the end of a great year at Kreft Primary, students will be rewarded with some play time in a bounce house. Thank you to EVERYONE for returning the permission slips. Please note that socks are required. To ensure that everyone has socks for next Wednesday please send a pair tomorrow or first thing next week. We will keep them in our lockers so that we won't have to worry about anyone not being able to go! That would be heartbreaking................................ Attendance AwardsThis week we celebrated perfect attendance for trimester three, and for yearlong perfect attendance. Congratulations to those pictured below. Bryson was recognized for not missing one single day all year! Way to go Bryson! Career WeekWe've had LOTS of fun learning about different careers this week. Not only did we get to experience Careers on Wheels, but today a college student came to our class to read a story and to tell kids what it's like to go to college. The student who came, Dani McComas, just happened to be one of my former students. She was in my class for kindergarten and first grade. What a treat it was to see her! The kids asked some great questions. I think my favorite was, "Do you have recess in college?" ChicksAs you may have heard, the smallest chick wasn't doing very well. He wasn't eating or drinking on his own, and we were having to give him water with an eye dropper. Needless to say, I was very worried about him. Dan Dewitt, a friend of mine who is a vet, came and took all three of the chicks to his house. We knew it wouldn't be good to take one and leave the other two so he took them all. Though it was hard for the kids to see them go, it was for the better. Celebration of LearningDon't forget! Our Celebration of Learning is next Tuesday, May 29, at 1:45, in our classroom. The celebration will last approximately one hour, and you are free to take your child home with you when done. Writing ProjectFor the final writing project of the year the students are making digital books on the computer. If technology is on our side next Tuesday, we will share these books during our Celebration of Learning. You will be impressed. I know I am!
We now have 3 little chicks. I don't see that any of the remaining eggs have cracks but it's hard to say what will happen. The webcam is back and running. The link is below.
Though the chicks were due to hatch on Monday, May 21, two have already hatched, and one more is hatching. I put some chicken eggs in our incubator because I was fearful that our duck eggs wouldn't hatch. Now we have chickens!! Help!
May 30 Kreft students will get to spend some time in a Bounce House. Permission slips must be received before students can participate..
I have permission slips for the following students: Caleb Addison DaiLeah Lucas Leah Kaiden Bryson Nathaniel Finley Abby Miley Jayden Arianna Hayden J. Emerson Quyonna DucksI'm sure you have heard that the ducks went to the farm today. Believe it or not, we already have pictures of them in their new home. They are loving their new space! Career WeekDon't forget..................... next week is Career Week! Each day has a dress up theme which can be found on a note sent home today.
The webcam has been moved from the incubator to the tub where the ducklings are kept. The link that was used before no longer works, but you can get to the webcam by clicking on the button below.
The webcam will only be up for a couple of days. Then it will be moved to another classroom where more ducks are set to hatch! How can it not be a GREAT day with this little guys to greet us this morning!
As I'm sure you heard, two of our ducklings hatched (yellow ones) and Mrs. Higginbotham gave us three of hers. Now we have a nice little family! This morning when I arrived at school two of the eggs had small holes. It was hard to see because they were pecking out on the underside of the egg. Both ducklings were chirping throughout the day and we making some progress toward hatching, but not a lot. After school I turned both of the eggs over to make it a little easier on them. It can take 24 hours or more for them to fully hatch so there's still hope. Below is a video and a couple of pictures. Don't mind me chirping into the incubator! LOL
