If you are unable to purchase a costume for your child, please let me know, as I am happy to help. I will, however, need a few days to shop, so if this is a need that you have, please contact me in the next day or two.
A BIG thank you to Brooke Hubbard for offering to plan the party. Though she will be the party planner, I will be emailing parents to ask for donations. As always, if I ask you to bring something and this creates a hardship for you, please let me know.
Finally, we will have pizza for lunch after the party. Please send $2.00 to cover the cost of the pizza.
Trick-Or-Treating
My address is 203 Wildwood Road, Council Bluffs, IA, 51503. I will entertain trick-or-treaters from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Cold Temperatures
If you don't have winter attire ready for your child, now is the perfect time to get everything organized. However, if buying winter apparel will cause a financial burden for your family, please let me know and I can help out. Shopping for winter gear was always one of my favorite things to do!
Though tomorrow it's supposed to be 60, I'm sure we will have snow again. Keep in mind that at Kreft students are only allowed to PLAY in the snow if they have snow boots and snow pants.
At Kreft first graders have three recesses. The first one is from 8:10-8:25, the second is from 10:40-11:00 and the last recess is from 3:00-3:15. Please keep in mind that the high for the day doesn't normally occur until late afternoon so when sending your child to school, have them bundled up and ready for recess at 8:10.

Thinking Beyond The Text
The story we read today was called Julius, The Baby of the World. The little girl in the story, Lilly, hated having a baby brother, and was downright mean to him! When asked if there was a message in the story one child replied, "Love everyone. Hate no one!" Now that's amazing coming from a first grader!!
When reading with your child, ask it he/she heard a lesson or a message. You will be surprised at what they come up!
Grandparents' Day
If your child's guest would like to take him/her home, that's great, as long as a permission slip has been signed. The following students have returned their permission slips:
Hunter
Shelby
Jordan
Luke
Liam
Alazia
Camden
Hank
Lilli
Jackson
Ashlynn
Anna
Denver
Micah
Darrian
If you have misplaced your permission slip, feel free to email me ([email protected]) stating who has permission to take your child home.
Students are welcome to stay with me after the program. Afterall, it would be lonely if EVERYONE left! LOL
